Dayton Family Photography Session at Oakes Quarry
To be totally honest, I absolutely adore candid family photos. When Emily & Tim said right off the bat that they were hoping to get lots of candid images, I was so excited. I have known these two for quite a while. I used to work with Emily at Red Robin before either of us were married. It is so wonderful to see how their family has grown since I saw them last!
Whenever I have a family session, I like to start with the hard stuff- sitting still and smiling at the camera. After that we have some fun together. I ask the family to do a bunch of random things to get more relaxed photos, where they are interacting together naturally. It ends up being a really fun experience overall. We laugh, we spin in circles, run around, talk about our favorite things- all things kids like to do smiling. I love to capture the beautiful chaos that is so true to the short season of life when kids are little.
True story- this is the first time Emily & Tim have ever done family photos. Like ever. I am so excited to give them back their very first family photos. They turned out so incredibly cute!
