Advice from a Wedding Photographer
As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing some of the most beautiful and memorable moments of a couple's special day. Through my lens, I have seen the joy, love, and excitement that surrounds a wedding day, and I understand how important it is to have those moments captured in a way that reflects the couple's unique style and personality. With that in mind, I would like to share some wedding advice from a photographer's point of view to help couples prepare for their big day and ensure they have beautiful, timeless photos to cherish for a lifetime.
Tips for Wearing a Cathedral Veil
Did you know how uncomfortable it is to wear a cathedral veil on your wedding day? It’s so beautiful (and great for photos!!), I don’t want to deter anyone from choosing one, but there are definitely some tricks to wearing it that make it quite a bit easier to manage. Here are a few tips from a Dayton wedding photographer to help you comfortably wear a cathedral veil on your wedding day.
Indiana Elopement Photos at The Sunken Garden
This elegant, styled picnic wedding editorial was absolutely gorgeous. I love the idea of having a more unique elopement that fits your personality, and this is clamping at its finest. There was a beautiful picnic spread laid out on a low table, with fluffy pillows for seating. If you are looking to have elopement photos done, or even just a few photos to announce your big news- this is a great idea for how to style it!
Mercantile Library Wedding
This past weekend was absolutely stunning. On Saturday, Sara & Martin tied the knot in front of their closest family and friends at The Mercantile Library in Cincinnati, and seriously- This venue is literally the type of place I dream about. We even took some portraits on a spiral staircase that leads to a room filled with rare old books. The Mercantile Library is one of the best and most unique places to get married in Cincinnati, and I am a huge fan.
Brunch Wedding at The Marmalade Lily
This past weekend was so beautiful. Sunday morning, Kristin and Rob tied the knot at their brunch wedding. What better wedding venue for a brunch wedding in June than The Marmalade Lily, where you are surrounded by fields of beautiful blooming flowers. It truly has the perfect vibe for an outdoor wedding.
Spring Wedding at the Marmalade Lily
Saturday was pure wedding magic. Christina & Ryan had an ethereal garden wedding in Loveland, Ohio. Every detail came together to create an other-worldly vibe. From Christina’s bridal headpiece to the ornate cake cutting utensils- this wedding was romantic and atmospheric. Guests enjoyed an outdoor dinner reception while the sun set over the garden at The Marmalade Lily. The resident wedding cat even came out to say hello to guests.
Winter Wedding at The Phoenix in Cincinnati
This day was a long time coming. C & Q pushed their wedding back during the uncertainty of 2020. After so much time planning and then planning again, it was so wonderful to finally celebrate their big day. The Phoenix was absolutely beautiful- the perfect venue for a winter wedding in Cincinnati. I am so excited to share a quick look from yesterday’s wedding at The Phoenix in downtown Cincinnati.
Wedding at the Cincinnati Art Museum
Yesterday’s wedding at The Cincinnati Art Museum was absolutely stunning. Shannon & Mike tied the knot in front of their family and friends in the courtyard of the museum- a beautiful outdoor ceremony space with the best natural lighting. There were so many great moments throughout the day, but one of my absolute favorites was when Mike first saw Shannon during their first look.
Gorgeous September Wedding at Rolling Meadows Ranch
Fall weddings are my favorite, and this beautiful day at Rolling Meadows Ranch was so dreamy. Yesterday Laura & Robert tied the knot at their outdoor ceremony, surrounded by family and friends. It was the perfect autumn day to celebrate a wedding- crisp and breezy, comfortable for all of their guests to enjoy both indoors and outdoors.
