The 7 Best Engagement Session Locations in Dayton
Stairs of the Dayton Art Institute
In front of DAI is the most beautiful, newly refinished staircase. Lighting is best closer to sunset. The museum does not charge a fee or require a permit for photos taken outside.

Cox Arboretum
Permit required. The best park about Cox Arboretum is the huge amount of variety in a small area: tree-lined paths, manicured gardens, a pond with a charming blue bridge, long grassy fields and a babbling brook lined with stone.

The Oregon District
This is one of those places I love the most in the morning when it's quiet. There's a brick road and cute shops with lots of character. You could also do a lifestyle vibe and grab a glass of wine, coffee, or hit the record store together for your photos.
Oakes Quarry
The best part about Oakes Quarry is that the ground is covered in rocks instead of dirt. It looks clean in photos for an outdoors location and reflects lots of great light. There are ponds and trees and rocky areas.
Grant Park
This park has so many hidden gems if you know where to go. There are stone ruins, a charming creek, grassy fields, and endless woods. Bring walking shoes with you to get between locations.
Wegerzyn Gardens
Permit required. Formally landscaped gardens with greenery-covered archways. This is a great photo location all year round with lots of different options in a small area. It’s always well maintained, and gets lots of gorgeous color during the fall.
Smith Gardens
When I think of hidden gem photo spots, this is at the top of the list. This garden is open to the public and is one of the most well maintained gardens I have ever seen. It always looks incredible. Sunset is best for this location.
