Tips for Wearing Multiple Dresses on Your Wedding Day

Wedding dresses are a special part of your big day, and wearing more than one is becoming increasingly popular! Why not switch it up and have a dress for your ceremony and a different one for the reception? Or even a dress for your grand getaway! There are so many options out there, and it can be fun to experiment and find a style that is uniquely you. Here are some tips for wearing multiple wedding dresses:

  1. Consider the season: If you’re getting married in the warmer months, a lightweight, flowy dress is great for the ceremony and reception. But if you’re getting married in the winter, you may want to swap out your gown for a less formal dress for the reception where you’ll feel warmer once you start dancing.

  2. Think about practicality: If you’re having a long ceremony and reception, it can be difficult to wear the same dress all night. Dresses with lots of beading are heavy and can take a physical toll on you if you wear them all day long. Consider switching out your gown for something more comfortable and practical for dancing.

  3. Have fun with it: This is your day, and you should enjoy it! Have fun with your dresses and pick something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself.

  4. Plan ahead: Make sure you plan ahead and give yourself enough time to find the perfect dresses. You’ll want to make sure you have enough time to alter them if necessary. Usually dress shopping happens about a year before your wedding day.

  5. Allow time in the timeline to change. Some dresses take awhile to get in and out of. Looped buttons are especially time consuming to do. This is the exact reason many brides opt to have a getaway dress in the first place- so their new spouse doesn’t have trouble helping them out of their gown! Whatever you choose to do, make sure you allow enough time in the timeline so you don’t feel stressed to change quickly.

Wearing multiple wedding dresses can be a great way to make your special day even more unique and memorable. Have fun with it and enjoy yourself!
