Kevin & Krystin chose the Scarritt Bennett center for their engagement session location because they wanted a location that had the vibe of a vintage European vacation post card- but instead was located in Nashville. They also love dancing together- Krystin even teaches dance. I wanted to make sure we incorporated both their love of dancing together and also the look they were going for in their engagement photos at Scarritt Bennett center.

When we scheduled our photo shoot time for golden hour, we were absolutely hoping for golden sunset light. However, nature had other plans and it was cloudy the day of their Nashville engagement session. Luckily, those clouds didn’t bring any rain and we were able to create something truly magical.

One of the best things about photographing an engagement session ahead of a wedding day, is that it gives me a chance to get to know a couple and how they interact together. When I photograph an engagement session, I like to direct couples with interactions and movements that give me an idea of what their connection is like. It helps me to create something that feels true to who my clients are and results in images that are authentic their unique love story. Anything that doesn’t work, we don’t do again on the wedding day. The whole photography process should feel fun and easy. It’s really just about capturing connection and telling your love story.
